Building Safety Leadership Award

Introduction

The International Code Council Foundation (ICCF) will begin efforts to recognize “building safety professionals” and those leaders in the building safety and related fields (building officials, engineers, innovators, lifetime proponents of safety) throughout the world for the purpose of bringing much-deserved attention to their individual contributions. The first award winners will be announced during Building Safety Week.

Award Overview

The following categories have been established to provide a diverse cross section of awards.

  • Building Safety Innovation / Research – Individuals who have propelled their ideas, imagination and dedication of finding the “answers” to make a meaningful, positive impact on society with their invention or specific research.
  • ICC Veteran Award – Individual who has made significant contributions over a lifetime of career service dedicated to safety initiatives. The nominee should be a renowned expert within his or her field.
  • ICC Unsung Hero Award – An individual who strives daily for excellence in their chosen vocation by doing exemplary, yet unrecognized work on behalf of the building safety industry and related professions.
  • Leadership / Policy Award – Individuals who display strong, dependable, and unwavering leadership qualities on tough issues related to building safety initiatives

Winners per Category

One winner per category will be announced IF NOMINEES DESERVING OF THIS HIGHEST HONOR are entered in each category. The committee reserves the right to defer awards if there are no suitable nominations. The Awards Committee’s decision will be final.

Timeline

The timeline for identification, judging and notification for the first year of awards will be determined soon.
