FLASH Cards

These handy cards offer concise information on a variety of topics including: preparing yourself and your home against hurricane, flood, lightning, hail, wildfire, power outage, heat wave, and terrorism; preparing people with disabilities for disaster, and disaster safety measures for your pets.

Homeowner How-To Videos

Updated in 2007, this collection of 14 short videos teaches homeowners the steps they can take to strengthen their homes and safeguard their families against disaster. Topics include: DIY Home Wind Inspection, Windstorm, Wildfire, Flood, Hail, Lightning, and more. Previews of the video are available on www.youtube.com/stronghomes

Blueprint for Safety® Education Program

This FLASH program disseminates the most comprehensive set of disaster-resistant building techniques available today. Blueprint for Safety uses an interactive website (www.blueprintforsafety.org) free consumer guides, contractor's field manuals, and printed and electronic newsletters Also, the program offers accredited classes for Florida builders and inspectors.

This publication, available in English and Spanish, is designed to teach home-owners about the major perils that threaten their property while helping them understand different insurance products and forms, as well as steps they can take to mitigate potential losses from natural disasters.
