Home builder named to ICC Foundation Board

Don Pratt, President and CEO of Wake-Pratt Construction in Michigan and Chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Research Center, has been named to the Board of Governors for the International Code Council Foundation.

A subsidiary of the International Code Council, the Foundation promotes a comprehensive approach to reducing loss of life and property through a complete building safety system. The Foundation's Board of Governors provides policy oversight, directs activities, offers corporate resources and supports fundraising. NAHB's senior officers selected Pratt to represent the interests of the home builders industry to the Foundation's Board of Governors.

As a general contractor, builder, developer and broker, Pratt has hands-on experience in nearly every phase of the construction industry. In addition to NAHB, Pratt also is active in the Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan, the Michigan Association of Home Builders, the Energy Star Homes Council and the Michigan Construction Industry Mutual Insurance Company.

The International Code Council Foundation is dedicated to changing the devastating effects of natural disasters and other building tragedies by promoting ideas, methods and technologies that encourage the construction of durable, sustainable buildings and homes.

NAHB is a trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing a national priority. Since 1942, NAHB has been serving its members, the housing industry, and the public at large.
