ICCF Scholarship Program
2006 Scholarship Winners
As part of the 2006 ICC Foundation Scholarship Program,
the ICC Awards Committee awarded scholarships to the following children
of ICC Members, honoring each for scholastic achievement and leadership.
All scholarships are designated for tuition, fees, books and school supplies
by students attending colleges, universities, trade schools, business
colleges or other accredited institutions.
Calli
C. Whitehouse (Normal, Illinois) was awarded a $1,000 ICC General
Scholarship. Calli is a junior at Illinois State University pursuing a
Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, with plans to earn
a doctoral degree. She is currently a licensed pharmacy technician. Callie
is an extremely active part of her community, contributing 75 hours/week
at area shelters, food banks, and for the local Rotary and Habitat for
Humanity.
Jeffrey Alex Weagel
(Sparks, Nevada) was also awarded a $1,000 ICC General Scholarship. Jeffrey
is entering his sophomore year at the University of Nevada, Reno, studying
Civil Engineering. Also active in the community, Jeffrey achieved the
prestigious Eagle Scout rank, the highest ranking in the Boy Scouts of
America. He hopes to use his engineering degree to research better building
materials and safer construction techniques.
Abby
Lynn White (Hill Top, Minnesota) was awarded the $1,000 William
J. Tangye Scholarship for her outstanding academic record and community
involvement. Abby is entering her senior year at the University of Wisconsin,
Milwaukee, in Wisconsin, seeking a degree in architecture. Her goal is
to design mixed-use properties where family, community and business co-exist.
Ryan
Finkle, from Butler, Missouri, was honored with the J.W. "Bill"
Neese Scholarship (sponsored by the Central Florida ICC Chapter). Ryan
is an entering freshman at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas,
studying Political Science with an emphasis in Public Administration as
well as Business Management and Emergency Management. His goal is to become
a government service executive and hold an executive office as alderman,
Congressional Representative or Senator, or the President of the United
States.
Edward
Knight Bentley (Sylacauga, Alabama) was selected for a $1,000
C. D. Howard Scholarship (sponsored by the Code Officials Association
of Alabama). Edward is a sophomore at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa,
Alabama, studying Engineering. His honors include All County in football
and golf, selection as an All State Academic/Athlete and member of the
Who's Who Among American High School Students list.
Caitlin T. Farinelli
(Wellington, Florida) was awarded the Charlie O'Meilia Scholarship (sponsored
by the Palm Beach County Chapter). Caitlin is a high school senior/college
freshman at The Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University.
She has been taking college courses since her sophomore year in high school
with plans to major in Public Administration in order to pursue a career
in government and public service.
